Unter Points of Interest, kurz POIs, werden georeferenzierte Objekte von allgemeinem Interesse verstanden, welche darüber Auskunft geben, wo sich etwas im Raum befindet. POIs zeigen zum Beispiel, wo sich ein Schulhaus, eine Post, ein Parkhaus oder ein Spielplatz befindet.
